Manufacturing Engineer

Fullerton Tool Company is looking for a candidate to fill the Manufacturing Engineer position, in which they would be responsible for leading manufacturing engineering and facility engineering for the company. Evaluates, recommends, and project manages all installations, rearrangements, and upgrades related to production and plant equipment. Leads control engineering and engineering students. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support to manufacturing areas for product quality and process control.
  • Responsible for process documentation and continuous improvement.
  • Design tooling and fixtures and incorporate them into production.
  • Evaluate equipment and supplier proposals, justify, and make recommendations. 
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes and implement irreversible corrective action.
  • Coordinates supplier and vendor activities.
  • Equipment acquisition, layout, and installation.
  • Propose facility improvements and rearrangements.
  • Write and maintain planned maintenance procedures and helps maintain database records.
  • Work with equipment operators and workplace organization.
  • Study processes and understand process capabilities and make improvements.
  • Produce facility and equipment piping diagrams and schematics.
  • Maintain personal and facility 5S.

Qualifications/Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with CNC processes and automation.
  • Experienced in writing work instructions and or standard operating procedures.
  • Experience working with maintenance teams.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees.
  • Autocad 2D CAD experience. 
  • Solidworks or equivalent experience developing models and drawings.
  • Strong computer skills with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications. Able to develop summary graphs, tables, pivot tables, and other reports using Powerpoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean and 6 Sigma principles.
  • Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy.
  • Works well under stress with the ability to deliver on time required. 

Equipment Used:
CNC grinding, inspection equipment, pitot tube, data loggers, various hand tools, and voltage meters.

Working Conditions:
Professional office environments (65% of the time). Occasionally required to interact with personnel on the manufacturing floor with exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, oils, and coolants. Some travel required (15%)

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit at a desk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear. Light lifting up to 15 lbs. Occasionally required to stoop or bend.
